In general, in order to maintain the beauty of the wood, it needs to be carefully preserved. Careful preservation of wood will not only increase its durability and lifetime, it will also protect the woods from all different kinds of damages including but not limited to rodents and fungus. Wood maintenance is not a one-off work. Instead, regular maintenance is needed if you want to maintain the woods in a high-quality standard. There are a few tips that we would like to share with everyone on preserving wood.

Method 1: Clean the Surfaces Regularly

Clean the wood surface regularly simply by dusting off any dirt or dush on the surface. You can choose to use a dry towel or rag to clean it. But remember clean it softly otherwise, you may leave scars or ineradicable damages on the wood surface. At the same time, you can pay attention to whether there are any imperfection or flaws on the surface.

Method 2: Pick the Right Product to Use

There are many different types of wood protection product in the markets. But remember to choose the right and high-quality one, or it will leave irreversible damage to the wood. Linseed oil is one of the good choices for additional protection.

Linseed oil also known as flax oil is a colourless to yellowish oil extracted from ripened seeds of the flax plants. It is commonly used as a preservative for wood and it can also protect the wood from sun and water damages. Also, it can also beautify wood and make them look shiny and twinkling.

Method 3: Rub the oil in slowly and carefully

Use a clean cloth to rub oil on the wood surface carefully. Try to cover every single corner on the wood and rub evenly.
Also remember, dab the oil on one splash at a time, rubbing it across the whole surface bit by bit. Don’t rush.

Apply another layer on top once you have finished the previous one until you think it is enough. If you are using some special product, remember to refer to the label on the product for more precise instruction.
